Privacy Policy
This page is maintained by the Beyond The Puck team to explain what data we collect, why, and the controls available to you. It is written in plain language and is not a substitute for legal advice.
What we collect
When you visit Beyond The Puck, we collect basic technical information your browser provides — IP address, device type, referring page and which articles you read. When you create an account, we also collect your name and email. When you subscribe, we collect billing details through our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
We use the information above to run the site, send the newsletters you've requested, fulfill memberships, and understand which stories matter to our readers so we can publish more of them. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and analytics
We use first-party cookies for sign-in and preferences, and a privacy-respecting analytics product to count pageviews in aggregate. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings without losing access to free content.
Children
Beyond The Puck is built for hockey families but is directed at adults — parents, coaches, organization staff, and players old enough to manage their own account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email privacy@beyondthepuck.com and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@beyondthepuck.com. We respond within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, restrict employee access to personal data, and review our practices regularly. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected users if we ever learn of a breach involving personal information.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and notify members by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
